AJ Tucker, President

With more than 30 years of experience in the trucking industry, AJ Tucker has built his career from the ground up, gaining perspective from nearly every role in transportation. From his early years behind the wheel to leading and owning multiple trucking companies, his knowledge of operations, sales, and business growth has shaped him into a trusted leader known for strategy, integrity, and vision.

AJ began his career as a driver and quickly found his passion in building businesses that prioritize people and performance. Over the years, he has developed and scaled successful fleets, launched dedicated divisions, and implemented systems designed to improve efficiency, safety, and service across every level of an operation.

In 2018, AJ and his wife, Sauny, acquired Art Pape Transfer, a third-generation carrier founded in 1956. Together, they rebranded the company as Tucker Freight Lines and have since grown it by more than 300 percent. Under AJ’s leadership, Tucker has expanded into heavy haul, dedicated, spotting, and sustainable yard management services while maintaining a strong reputation for reliability and excellence.

AJ has also served on several industry boards and advisory panels focused on transportation, logistics, and fleet optimization. His ability to combine operational expertise with long-term vision continues to drive Tucker Freight Lines’ success and future growth.

AJ and Sauny live in Dubuque, Iowa, with their three sons, Charlie, Leo, and William, and their dogs, Freddie and Louie. The Tucker family is deeply involved in their community and enjoys everything from local sports to professional-level motocross racing.
